It’s been quite a while since I’ve worked on the nursery at all, so we decided to document what I did tonight. Tim helped me put up the netted canopy for the crib, and I installed some bookshelves that are toddler accessible. ( niece accessible, too!) Our puppy Penny thought it was all very interesting, and watched me the whole time! She followed me around and tilted her head every time I hammered something into the wall. ( Which was admittedly a lot. I had to try a few times on one of the shelves to get it to hang level.) But it all turned out great!

Here is a picture of Sleepy Owl, who I sewed because I 1) love owls and 2) wanted something to make the crib look less empty. She seems to like the canopy, and her view of the aspen trees I painted on the walls.

It’s about time I posted again! I’ve been having a lot of fun at cosmetology school lately, and want to share some pictures. These are from a group of models for a Bridal show that the TA Artistic Team worked on this week. We got to do a lot of hair and makeup, and even got to watch them filmed at Channel 4.

I had a fun Saturday this week- we went to Gateway Mall, and had lunch at Macaroni Grill, and performed in the Assembly Hall on Temple Square in SLC with a city choir.

This is Kait, and she let me color her hair yesterday! It’s a red-violet accent, and a dark violet red all over. She loves it!

Cosmetology School!

Hi, all!

I thought I should post about cosmetology school, since I started it in September! I’m going to school at Taylor Andrews, http://www.taylorandrew.com/gallery/photos/, a very prestigious school here in Utah, and I love it already. The instructors are amazing and the educational experiences they offer are varied and innovative. I know- I sound like a commercial- but it really is even better than I thought it would be. The environment is positive and it feels like a high end salon, and I’ll be working on clients starting in a few weeks!

Since I’ve started, my “image” is changing. I don’t want you to think I’m one of “those” girls now, I’m not. I still have grungy nasty hair days and don’t wear makeup every time I go out ( ha! ). But I have changed my look a little, because they tell us in hair school that you can’t sell what you’ve never done yourself, and you won’t appear as artistic/creative when you don’t try to look “stylish.”

That said, I don’t really care what anyone thinks about how I look; I love it, and so does Tim! He wanted me to go red, so I went red! Here are some pictures.

Tim and I went with our nieces to the pumpkin patch tonight- such fun! Maddie rode there on Tim’s shoulders.

This is just a silly little post to tell you that I’ve had such great luck with my thrift store shopping lately! Anyone who knows me knows that it’s always been a big hobby of mine. I collect silver, and love looking for funky skirts and classic styles.

I found these great shoes, and they’re practically brand new! They’re super comfortable Sketchers, and I’ll be able to pair them with skirts.

I also found an egg poacher insert that will poach eggs in heart shapes.

Aaaand I found a vintage PRADA bag for $5. The real deal. I looked it up everywhere, and it’s worth $250-500. Yay, DI!
